- There's a John and Ann Rees in the Parish Bettws Newydd records with many baptisms in the late 1850's. Do you know who John and Ann are? Abode is listed as Clytha (spelling may be off cause it's hard to read).

You asked about John and Mary Rees in your last e-mail. Well, this is my theory, part fact; part analysis. Margaret Rees, mother of Wills born 1804, had a brother called Walter Rees (son of William Rees & Mary Holmes - see Parish Records for Bettws Newydd). I think that John Rees is his son, so a first cousin to Margaret. Don't know who his wife Ann is though. I also think that Mary Rees who married Thomas Marsh in Bettws Newydd on 7 Oct. 1826, is a daughter of Walter Rees. This is only a theory but might give us a point of reference for research. |
